The North

Corralejo & The Vibrant Surf Scene

Our Fuerteventura adventure started by rolling off the ferry into Morro Jable, but the real magic began as we slowly climbed north along the endless beaches of Jandía. After a two-hour drive, we arrived in Corralejo, a town that beats to the rhythm of surfers, kiters, and vibrant nightlife.

We spent our first few days at the legendary Flag Beach. The wind didn't disappoint, providing absolute perfect kiting conditions right off the bat. Just next door are the Grandes Playas, massive beaches with fine white sand that stretch out towards the Dunas de Corralejo. This natural park is an incredible sight — huge dune fields that look like a slice of the Sahara Desert spilling directly into the turquoise ocean.

Inland from Corralejo lies Lajares, a charming village known for its calm surf atmosphere and artisan markets. We eventually moved further west to El Cotillo, an authentic fishing town boasting some of the island's most beautiful beaches like La Concha. We capped off the northern tour by taking the bumpy, dusty road from Majanicho back to Corralejo.
